How do I find out more about a posted opportunity?

Contract opportunities available through Metavue come with a Skills Matrix, available on the Opportunities page. The matrix includes all available details about a position, including a description of work, bill rates, location, requiements/skills, years of experience, and any required certifications. The skills matric also serves as a required part of any submisison. The matrix is where you provide the informaiton needed to assess a candidate and present candidates to the hiring manager.

What is the difference between the Engagement End Date and the Estimated Project End Date ?

To understand the difference between these dates you have to understand a few basics about State agency funding and budgets.  The fiscal year ends on June 30th of any given calendar year.  Typically, an agency will not commit to retaining a contractor beyond that date, as there is a work order, or purchase order, in place for the engagement which uses funds from the current year's budget.  Many project go beyond the end if the fiscal year, and the Engagement End Date captures this.  With renewals, a good contractor may be engaged through the Engagement End Date.

What is the VMS ?

The VMS, or the IT Vendor Managed Services Sourcing Contract, is the contract, and generally the system of mechanisms, through which IT contract services are procured by Wisconsin State agencies.  In order to provide contract IT services to the state, a general contractor must be a services supplier under this contract.  Metavue Corporation is an approved services supplier, and so can work directly with State agencies in placing consultants.
